FOMO

This is one of the biggest dangers you can run into when in business.
FOMO. Fear Of Missing Out. Can absolutely destroy you.
So, how do you deal with it?
People like talking about Napoleon, a famous story about a general who keeps approaching him and suggesting ideas: "Maybe we should take Mongolia! Maybe we should take Spain! Maybe we should take Russia!"
(in hindsight that last one was definitely a mistake)
Napoleon would whip out a map, stare at it, and do some calculations in his head.
After some time he would go to them and say: " Gentlemen, that sounds great, but we just don't have the horses."
Remember this, because you need to tell your brain the same thing too
“Yes brain, I know that’s a nice idea buuuuut we only have 24 hours in a day and we promised that we would be LAZER focused on this right now.”
“After we finish up what we are doing right now and we have some time, we’ll take a look at it.”
Write it down somewhere and then move on to the next thing.
After all, in the age of 0.5-second attention span, it doesn’t take that much to make you get your eye off the ball. Next thing you know, the whole day passed and you haven’t done anything.
You won’t succeed in business with 25% focus. You need to be at 100% on one thing at a time instead of 4% on 23 different things.
This never works, you don’t have the horses
Talk soon,
Roberto
