Hey there,
It’s Roberto here.
I know this might sound a bit strange, but I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to taking on new clients—and trust me, that's a good thing.
Let me take you back to an experience I had with a client, let's call him John.
Now, John was what you’d kindly refer to as a nightmare. Ask anyone within a 100km radius, and they'd all tell you the same thing, “Yup, he’s a nightmare.”
Despite the warning signs, I went ahead because I was the guy handling his ads. Things started off great, the ads were bringing in sales, and John couldn’t be happier. He treated me like gold.
Fast forward a month, we sit down to review the results. He says, “No worries, the results have been spectacular. Let’s keep this momentum going!”
Little did I know, John had connected a stolen credit card to run those ads on Meta. He pocketed all the profits, skipped town, and left me high and dry, without a dime for my efforts.
A truly charming individual.
What did I learn? No good deal ever comes from dealing with bad people. It cost me around $1,000 to learn this invaluable lesson. Good riddance.
That’s why I make it a priority to have a conversation with any potential client before diving into a project. I want to ensure we're both aligned and if we're not, I’m more than happy to refund any payments received.
Life’s too short to deal with difficult people.
Talk soon,
Roberto
