When I first learned about landing pages I had no idea how useful they can be, if done right it can be a great tool for getting clients.
Most businesses have a landing page only for the sake of having one, since they don’t optimize it they don’t see any results.
That’s why in this article I’ll walk you through exactly how to make your landing page get you more clients.
What a landing page must do.
A landing page is where we take potential clients to close them on the sale or give them more information about our product/service.
For that to happen the landing page needs to do a couple of crucial things.
People really really really like it when we speak their language about a certain problem or desire they have.
It makes them feel like we understand them and they are more likely to listen to what we have to say. But this goes both ways, if we don’t tell them what they want to hear they will leave faster than a gold digger when you offer to split the bill.
And that’s not something we want to do, It’s like throwing money in a blender and expecting it to blend into gold bars.
That’s why we want to know what their language is and how to speak to them.
We do this by knowing exactly who our target audience is, what they like, what they don’t like, how they speak, and where they hang around.
Everything that will tell us who they are.
Knowing this is a superpower that will make any landing page into a money printer regardless of the business.
The look of a landing page.
It’s not 2003 anymore so filling your landing page with every image, color, icon, and text doesn’t make sense.
So let’s take a look at some things to keep in mind when designing the look of a landing page.
This first thing is really important so I want your FULL attention, if you mess this up everything else falls down the drain.
If you SUCK at design, use a FREE template.
You don’t need to design everything from scratch, some people do that full-time, all day every day and they are better than you.
And the best part, the people who have dedicated their lives to designing things have made templates that you can use for FREEEEE.
You can just take them, make them your own, and BOOM a landing page is born.
We got the design, and we know who we are talking to the only thing left is to fill our landing page with everything they want to know.
Like the last two points if you mess this up they jump ship like it’s the Titanic. Making your writing simple and easily understandable at a glance is a cheat code most people ignore.
They tend to overcomplete everything and use terms only understood in their industry.
And that’s everything you need to make an effective landing page, testing and iterating play a big role as well so don’t just stick with version one.
Change it up, see what gets better results, go with that, test again, and so on.
