Understanding marketing is like playing the guitar for the first time. You try things, and sound comes out but deep inside you know it’s not music.

When you start doing research in marketing, the first thing you'll notice is that there is a metric ton of information out there. 


Libraries have been filled with marketing books. From the most beginner-friendly booklets to Tolkien-sized tomes.


Not to mention that some of it is contradictory and most doesn’t even work. 


It gets so overwhelming at times and you ask yourself how can you even know what works and what doesn’t. 


Hidden in all those books are 3 core elements, and 3 building blocks that you need to make a successful ad. 


They can be used in any business for any type of marketing and it’s going to be successful. 


Sounds like magic…well let’s pull back the curtain.


The First core element is the most important, so we have to make sure to get it right. 


It’s the message we send out. The FIRST thing that people will see.


The biggest sin made here is to make it boring. 


Boring ads get skipped, that’s not what we are here to do. 


What we say needs to be clear. So people will understand.

It needs to be powerful. To get them interested. 


And It must be persuasive. This will get them to buy. 


The aim with every word is to cut through the clutter and get in front of our client. 


That brings us to the second core element. 


We have the message, but who is going to hear it? We can’t just yell randomly hoping for someone to stumble across it. 


That’s why it's crucial to know who the message is for. Who is the target audience?


Understanding our audience makes it easy to get the message in front of them. 


Now this doesn’t have to be 100% since we can test different audiences see their reactions and adjust accordingly.


We have the message, we know we need to see it. 


All that’s left is we get our message in front of them. The third core principle. 


This is by far the easiest one… only if everything before is done correctly.


By using social media platforms that have precise targeting. We use all the resources we know to create something that’s going to speak only to them. 


That is only going to happen if…


  1. We understand what we are going to say.


  1. We know who we are saying it to.


  1. And where to find these people.


One cannot work without the others. That is why the combination of the 3 is necessary to ensure that every ad we create becomes successful.
