We live in an age where 99% of communication is text-based and the other 1% uses smoke signals.

Knowing how to communicate your ideas through text is super important, not only for the fine craft of texting girls but also for its use in business.

Having the ability to write words and generate attention is powerful.

Not many people know this but you can learn how to write words that generate the right attention.

What most people get wrong is starting by thinking that the reader is someone who cares what they have to say.

So they try to impress him, which often doesn’t work out.

I blame the school for this.

Not only did school teach us to write in a very weird ineffective way but the rules they imposed made writing to be like a fat girl at a nightclub.

But good thing I didn’t listen too much at school... Or to fat girls.

Now let me show you how thinking about a bar will instantly make you a better writer.

I’d like to call it the BAR test.

No, not the one that you take to become a lawyer, this one is simple and doesn’t require your soul.

But before we head to the bar, there are two things we need to do.

And no it’s a pre-game drink.

The first one is when you finish writing a sentence or any form of text.

What I want you to do is look at it and say it out loud.

And listen to what it sounds like.

Did it sound good, did it sound weird, did it make any sense when you said it?

Now the more times you do this the better you will get at it. So start saying everything you write.

By doing this you will start to understand how to properly use commas, periods, and line breaks. Very useful thing in writing.

Also, you will subconsciously know where the text is falling off and how it flows from one sentence to another. This will make you stand out.

But we’re not going to stop there.

Once you read it out loud, I want you to think if you would say that to a living person.

You are face to face with a beautiful blond-haired woman.

Imagine saying to her what you have written.

Would it be like a normal person talking or would she run away faster than Usain Bolt in the Olympics?

Just by thinking about this, you will instantly know the answer. If you tense up and it feels weird, read it out again, see where it sounds weird, and start improving.

The best way to use this is with the BAR test.

This is how it works.

Imagine you are at a bar and someone sits next to you and starts a conversation. How you respond is exactly the way you need to start writing.

Hopefully, you’re not going to start talking like AI, that won't make any sense.

You won’t make a good impression at all and the other person may think you're a robot.

Don’t be a robot, be a person. Write how you talk and say out loud what you write.

That alone will make you a five times better writer than anyone around you.

Always make sure to use the BAR test when writing. And if you want me to take a look at your writing for free, you can contact me at any time and I can see what I can do.
