The Worst Number
Hi,
It's Roberto.
In the history of business from the time they traded cows for crabs to today, the worst number in business has always been number 1.
One staff member. One computer. One IT guy. One client. Or...
...one source of leads.
A couple of years ago I ran a lead generation agency, we started spending on Google Ads about $10 per day at the start and then scaled from there. It was profitable.
And this was our ONLY source of leads, this was going so well and I was too focused on doing the actual work to find other sources.
I remember logging in on a random Friday morning and seeing an email from Google. "Account Paused".
Some random man at Google decided to lock our ad account and keep it locked. (Nice guy huh?)
Thought to myself: "No big deal, I'll get in touch with a customer service rep."
Turns out you can't get a customer service rep on the phone. Even if you spend just under $1000/day.
(insane, I know)
So I send in a ticket. And another. And another.
This went on for literal months. In that time I got absolutely wrecked, because I didn’t have another source of leads.
If you depend on referrals or word of mouth or meta ads or google ads ALONE?
You're a disaster waiting to happen.
I know. I've been there.
Don't do it to yourself. The stress isn't worth it.
Develop multiple lead sources. Because ONE is the worst number in business by far.
Talk soon,
Roberto
